The Flesch reading ease was developed by Rudolf Flesch and uses the below formula based on total word, sentence, and syllable counts in a text to calculate readability.
Flesch reading ease scores correspond to roughly the below grade levels. Unlike some other readability formulas, the Flesh reading ease scale is descending, meaning a lower score corresponds to higher difficulty.
